Buying Gold will be the Correct Move in this Price Correction

Gold has arrived at an important target on its 10-year arithmetic chart – a trendline target, which is a good point for it to react back, which is made more likely by the latest extreme COT & sentiment readings. Such readings usually, but not always occur at a top or ahead of a reaction or period of consolidation. Should it succeed in breaking above this trendline, the $1.550 level may soon be seen.

Silver Outlook: Short-Term "Overbought & Volatile", Long-Term "Positive"

Commercial short & Large Spec long positions in silver have built up to a very high record level, making a reaction back soon a high probability. Bullishness towards silver is now at extreme levels, and while this doesn’t always lead to an immediate reversal, taken together with the other factors, it does suggest that caution is in order with respect to silver’s immediate prospects.

As we have now punctured an important silver trend line, what happens next could be very interesting. If silver closes above $20.35, the 50 (MA) trend line at a significant margin, we could see a lot more hedge funds and large traders jump into the silver market bandwagon. Bullion banks who hold record commercial silver short contracts, will likely defend the $20.35 price at all costs.
