Precious Metals Demand Plummets In West, Surges In East

The Trump market euphoria has taken the wind out of precious metals investors recently. Sales of gold and silver have plummeted in the West (especially USA), but surged in the East. I am completely dumbfounded by recent decline in precious metals demand & sentiment in the West. It only indicates that most Americans are completely insane when it comes to sound fundamental investing.

American Gold Eagle - Gold Coin Sales Soar Over 200%

Gold futures ended May with the biggest monthly decline since November but physical gold demand saw a significant increase from last year. Sales data compiled by the U.S. Mint shows that a total of 95,000 ounces of gold were sold in May, up more than 206% from 31,000 ounces sold in May 2015. Looking at the physical markets you can see signs of long-term strength.

30 Year Slide In Dollar May Be New Life For Gold: 2014 Outlook

If the dollar’s 30 year decline, as measured by the DXY Index continues, gold may be the main beneficiary. Smart money who understand it’s importance as a diversification continue to accumulate gold – Despite compelling reasons for gold to rally, it still seems to be stuck in a downtrend.
