China Takes Aim At Dollar Reserve Status: Promotes Yuan In Investment Bank

Beijing will push for the yuan to be included in a basket of currencies used to denominate and settle loans from the Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). China would push for broader use of the yuan at the AIIB and the Silk Road Fund, as part of efforts to promote the yuan as an international currency.

Could Dollar lose its status as the Reserve Currency Status?

For a currency to have international reserve status, the related assets must be useable with minimal transaction-price impact & have relatively stable values in times of stress. Financial stability reforms can, alongside fiscal prudence, help protect the safety & liquidity of sovereign assets & can hence play a crucial role for reserve-currency status.

Yuan: China's Foreign Exchange Policy Nothing But A Silly Game

This is indeed silly games. Until anyone in the mainland can take money freely in and out of the country, the yuan remains officially defined as funny money. There is no such thing as “normal” in the yuan exchange rate. Normal market forces do not determine it.
