Oil Slides As Inventories Trump Iran-Yemen Push-Pull

The crude oil rally due to airstrikes on Yemen, reversed the sell-off that occurred in part on the rising odds of a deal with Iran being reached. Both events may have negligible near-term supply impacts, with the build in crude inventories set to continue in 2Q15. It appears today’s weakness indicates a dawning realization that there’s still too much.

China to Obama: “Shut Up and Mind Your Own Business”

First Russia, and now China. The US is being firmly put in its place by the emerging superpowers in the world. First it was President Putin standing up to Obama over Syria in 2013. Then again in early 2014, Putin stood up to the US sanctions. Now China has sent a sharp official message to the US, warning it to stop meddling.

In retaliation to Western sanctions, Putin yesterday unveiled a total food import ban from all sanctioning nations & just as the BRICS created their own ‘IMF-lite’ away from Washington’s prying eyes, Russia plans to substitute banned goods with not just domestic supplies but imports from Latin America, China & several other nations.
